Question about BMW X5 Series
Hold both buttons the Open and the Lock on your remote key for about 60 seconds, it should turn the lights inside the car and the problem should be fixed.
It worked on my Honda Accord 2004

My Volvo acts like that if someone sets off the alarm. You probably already tried this, but just use the key in the doorlock if you can, then get in and drive it normally. lock and unlock the doors some like you might normally, while the key is in the ignition (using the door buttons inside) and that should reset the alarm... good luck!
