    After coding service engine soon light on my 2012 Maxima I replaced mass airflow sensor then disconnected pos on battery to reset light. After about 25 miles of driving light came back on. What next?

    Exactly what engine fault code has the computer generated and have you had the car scanned to see what other codes have been generated if any.

    If you guess what the cause of the problem is and just replace a part that has actually not caused the fault code or was only part of the cause, then the issue is going to re-appear.

    I will give you what the codes mean and you can then work out what to replace.
    code p0171 refers to system too lean--bank 1===causes intake / exhaust leak---AIR system---MAF/VAF sensor---fuel pressure/pump---injector/s---HO2s
    code p0201 refers to injector 1--circuit malfunction===causes--- wiring--injector ---ECM
    code p0202 refers to injector 2 --circuit malfunction===causes --wiring---injector--ECM
    code p0203efers to injector 3 --circuit malfunction===causes---wiring--- injector --ECM
    code p0204 refers to injector 4 --circuit malfunction===causes ---wiring ---injector ---ECM
    code po321 refers to crank shaft position (CKP) sensor/engine speed (RPM) sensor---range / performance problem===causes---air gap---metal particle contamination---insecure sensor /rotor --wiring---CKP/RPM sensor.

    Engine code po455 and po420

    your code 455 is caused by a misfire. And the code 420 Is caused by what is called a evap leak. the most common cause of this code is the o ring in your gas cap leaking.

    What is causes of multiple cylinder misfire in chevy lumina 1999

    The P0171 co is probably the one that is causing the misfire. It's a lean code meaning the engine is not getting enough fuel. This can cause a condition known as lean misfire and cause the misfire code. A vacuum leak is a possibility as well as a bad MAF sensor or even poor fuel pressure. The p0341 code is a code for the cam sensor. Typically this will not cause any issues other than the code.

    I had my car put on a machine he told me codeP300, P0171, P0302, P0304, P0420 needs repairing. What are these codes for. My car is an 2001 toyota Corolla

    P0171 is a lean oxygen sensor code. Codes P0300, P0302 and P0304 are all cylinder misfire codes. Low fuel pressure can cause all of these codes and would be the first thing I would check before replacing anything. Lean codes can be caused by misfiring cylinders. Engines running lean can cause misfires. So you have to figure out which came first - the lean condition or the misfire. Also, it needs to be verified that the engine actually is running lean and the oxygen sensor is not "lying" to the computer. An oxygen sensor that is a liar can actually cause the engine to run rich while telling the computer that it is running lean...AND THIS can cause misfires.

    P0420 Is an evaporative emissions system leak code. This code is most often caused by a bad or loose fuel cap. It is also often caused by people refueling their vehicles with the engine running. It can also be caused by a leak in the system that has nothing to do with the fuel cap or refueling.

    Evaporative Emissions Vent Solenoid failures are very common on Toyotas and can also cause P0420.

    So, to wrap all of this up in simple terms:
    You need to get some diagnostics done to save you from wasting a bunch of your hard-earned cash trying to guess what to do to fix the car.

    What do po 171 system to lean (bank)1

    It means pretty much what it says...something is causing your engine to run too lean (Not enough fuel) on bank 1. If you have a V-engine and that code is the only code you are getting, the most likely cause would be a defective oxygen sensor. If you are also getting misfire codes (Codes P0300 to P0310) then you need to diagnose the misfire first. The lean code will probably take care of itself once the misfire is fixed. If you have a 4 cylinder engine, this code may be caused by several other things as well. Vacuum leaks, defective mass airflow sensors, and/or defective MAP sensors can cause this code. This is not likely on a V-engine unless you are getting lean codes for BOTH banks.

    What causes code 1740 to appear

    there is a web site called www.bioscentral.com it show fault codes and what they mean. Fault codes never tell you exactly what is wrong with a vehicle, just the area to look in. i do believe that this is a hard drive error.
