Question about 1996 GMC Jimmy

3 Answers

It dies out all the time. Never breaks down it just dies out. with the truck in drive as you take off there is a big hesitation and then it drives fine. sometimes it bogs completley down and you just put it in p or n and it fires right up. I would take this truck across country with no other problem it is just annoying that we cant find the problem. i have been told to check the transmission vacuum control module. Is that the right direction? By the way, about 5 yrs. ago my grandfather had a reman engine and tranny put in and it had the problem before that also.

Sounds like you need a fuel pump. There is an access panel in the floor of the car to get to the pump.

1999 jeep wrangler idles rough almost dies out now has a slight miss or hesitation while driving

Please be fast about checking your fuel pump. It is not giving enough fuel pressure.
