EGR is sticking or mass air flow and possible Throttle Position Sensor.
Have had all 3 give me trouble with 5.0 in the past. Clean EGR,and if its the same, check TPS with ohms meter, needle type are the best.

at a guess I would say that following the engine replacement, the vacuum line to the auto transmission actuator was not reconnected
check all wires and connections to the transmission

Engine stalls when applying brakes. To prevent

You may have a dirty idle speed control valve, do the procedure below to correct this.

Get a can of intake cleaner (ABOUT $5.00) from any local auto parts store like NAPA or Carquest, do not use carburetor spray, intake cleaner only or u will damage the Teflon coating inside the throttle valve and air bypass valve, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

sounds like air in the power steering fluid - check for a hose jumping around as you turn the steering wheel - a hose hitting metal sounds like a pop - - best of it

1995 Ford windstar. has just started to overheat while idling and cools down while driving and heater doesnt work while idling but works while driving. any ideas?

therostat. it's the hose that runs from the raideator to the top of the intake. Unbolt it at the intake and it's right there.

Hello, I have a 1990 Ford F150 4.9l Auto 2wd. I have had problems with my truck running rough when i start it up. It runs ok for about 5 seconds with some miss. but then after the idol drops down to under...

sounds like an intake leak / getting to much air at low rpm . spray a (tiny amount) of tractor starter fluid near the intake base and see if the rpm speeds up if it does it's leaking you need new intake gaskets, or a hose is leaking , get a vacum guage to test it.

Check fuel pressure. Sounds like a bad pump or plugged fuel filter.
