I just tore loose the aluminum tube running across the front under the bumper of my 2004 Impala cop car. Looks like part of the oil system judging from the oil that came out. I was trying to tow something. Very stupid. Can I replace this myself? Thanks.

New push pins and drill a couple hole on both sides of crack to install zip ties this will hold or you need to replace the cracked piece (bumper cover etc)
there sill be a silver looking pill shaped canister usually next to the firewall (the engine side of the dash) there will be an aluminum tube coming out to the front and back on the front tube there is a plastic cap about six inches from the canister that looks like a tire stem cap thats it be careful youll put your eye out lol
Remove the headlamp assembly and replace the bulb.If you have under 36k miles this is still under the bumper to bumper warranty and the dealership will fix it for free.Hope this helps.Good luck.
if you have an entire headlight assembly (in case of accident) remove bumper, there are 8mm screws on the inner lining of the fron wheel well where the fender plastics and the air dam connect to the bumper, undo the screws concerning the bumper on bot sides of the car. then remove the plastic cover under the bumper (either philips screw heads or 10mm) and then under the aluminum re-enforcement strip behind the bumper (access from under the car) remove the torx screws that hold the bumper aluminum to the car frame, get a friend to help you pull the bumper off evenly an then seek the 8mm screws that hold the headlamp in place. the headlamp comes off the car strait out the direction of the front. disconnect the wires and connect the new lamp and fasten to the car. then do the assempbly in reverse order for the bumper installation.
for just changing the bulb, there are some rubber seals behind the light where the bulb rests. there are metal clips than you depress to release the bulb. install a new bulb and then replace the rubber caps.
For your 2006 Impala, it would be on passenger side next to the ac condenser. It is on the bottom front of the engine. It might help if you can get under the front bumper lying down to visually confirm location.
For your 1998 Dodge Diesel, it would be on passenger side towards the back/bottom. Likewise, it might help if you can get under the front bumper lying down to visually confirm location but should also be visible looking down on the engine.
This is of course assuming that both vehicles still have the original designated engines.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
