SOURCE: I need the torque specs and sequence on a 1998 chevy 350 vortec

Vortecs are a little different that old school small blocks, grab a Haynes or Chiltons, the cross patterns and specs are simply diagramed. Vortec, as any really, start with 25# then 45# and then final torque which I believe is around 70-75# but to be sure verify with the manual. AutoZones, Murry's, Adavance auto all carry the books, Cheap insurance.

SOURCE: no pass smog...I need vacuum hose information for toyota corolla 1988 fx 1.6 4 cil. 4ALC aut. thanks

The parts Department at the local dealer May be able to print you out a copy,. if you ask nicely -- Otherwise,. a Haynes or Chilton repair manual will also have the details, but you got to look real careful at it as it is typically crossed with other stuff, like electrical or other diagrams incorporated into the same schemata... so as to confuse you? If you do not want to buy the repair manual for like $20 bucks,,,, check your local library, it's free - either way, call ahead for availability.
Best regards,
Ck

My 1994 corolla 1.3 carburetor does not run smooth when i drive it from a stop. i have to press more gas and still the engines somewhat shivers.

There are two possible problems affecting your car. The first is the head gasket. The second is the timing chain. Each can make your Corolla perform as you describe it.

There is one way to find out quickly if the engine involves the head gasket, or not. That way is a compression test. This test does require some specialized equipment and knowledge. It is best to leave it to a trained technician.

When the test is run, the ignition removes the spark plug from the block and inserts the testing device. The compression of each cylinder is measure in this way. If the reading that results is too low on two cylinders, it is very likely that your car's problem is the head gasket. When a head gasket blows out, a weakened piece of the head gasket fails, leaving a rather large vacant space behind. This compromises the engine's sealing and its vacuum balance. Two cylinders are affected by the gasket failure and their compression tests will show low, but not failed compression. Your Corolla will perform just as you describe it.

If you have the compression test performed and it shows the compression on all four cylinders is correct. Then it is time to replace the timing chain.

I have oil leaking into cooling system, but no water in the engine. My oil level is dropping. What can cause this and what is the fix?

This is caused by a leaking head gasket. When a head gasket leaks you can get oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil of the engine or both. You will need to pull the cylinder head off, have it checked for cracks and if none are found have it machined flat again and replace the head gasket. Use only a quality head gasket set either from the Toyota dealer or a well known quality brand like Fel-Pro (available from NAPA and others). This is a job that requires some special tools and a great deal of car repair knowledge, time to do the job is about 6 hours.

Running rough, metal and oil in back cylinder. Also blowing wight smoke.

sounds like the head gasket is shot and will need to be replaced. White smoke is sign of anti-freeze in the oil. The metal chunks are parts of the gasket. This is what you need to do, change the plug wires, because if there is a bad wire you would definitely experiences sputter or a stutter, so do the plug wires and at the same time do the spark plugs, this should take care of your problem. if not let me know and i will give you the next step
