The seedometer on my 2001 Nissan frontier V6 ,5speed manual transmission doesn't work , but the odometer does. How can I fix it so they bolth work?

you need to hook up a scan tool and see if the transmission speed sensor has a speed output,or the cluster has to be replaced

My 97 volvo was in an accident before i bought it and my speedometer works but my odometer doesn't what or where should i begin looking to fix it

The speedometer works from the speed sensor (top of transmission casing, near engine. The Odometer must run from a cable from the transmission housing toward the firewall and the instrument cluster. The cable is either disconnected, broken or worn. You need the disconnect it and turn it with a drill to see if it works.
Source : I had a mazda where the cable became all rounded up where it connects into the transmission, I had to change the odometer cable. I did however change the speed sensor on my 94 850.

there is a speed sensor that connects to the transmission. cheap fix but i would check that. also, the cable connections should be checked to make sure they are not corroding.

Hello, my 05 Scion Tc's speed odometer is not working all of a sudden, what am I looking at here something thats a quick and cheap easy fix?

if the speedometer isnt working but the odometer does it may have a problem in the instrument cluster. if neither work, the ck engine light should be on and possible speed sensor problem????? no quick easy fox ; (

Hate to say it but not very likely. Mine cost me $1500 for a rebuilt. Doesn't hurt to check a few local shops that deal with transmissions.

2000 ford focus speedometer stuck at max speed

it may have a static charge in the instrument cluster, try un-hooking the battery then turn the key on and even hit the brakes to try to drain the spark out of the system, hooking the 2 cables together with the battery disconnected may work as well to drain it.hook up the battery and see what happens, but make sure the key is off and nothing is on-lights,radio,wipers etc,it could send a spark to the computer.

81 corvette speedometer and odometer quit working

unhook speedometer cable from transmission and spin cable by hand it should turn smoothly if it des hook end to a low sped drill and see if it holds at a steady speed if it does the the problem is in the plastic speedo gear in the trans if it dos not remove the dash and inspect the connection on the speedo head
