jeep, ( 98 4.0 ) chugs once in a blue moon, and i'll have to pop out of gear and rev the rpms to get her motorin' again, what's up!!! Already replaced sending unit since I was having level indicator problems anyway, still chuggin' now and again.

I have a '94 jeep wrangler that idles fine but when you accelerate, it
dies out. Seems starved for fuel. Could the fuel pump just not be
    giving it enough fuel?

  • bpsfaxtest May 11, 2009

Had the starvation issue at one time on my 94 wrangler 4.0. Replaced the fuel filter etc. Turned out to be the fuel sending unit in the tank. It has a boot that had failed and was getting effectively sucked in to the openings where fuel was supposed to be flowing. (Per Jeep dealers explanation)
Replace the top seal of the fuel tank when you do this. Dealer screwed up my gas gauge when they did this repair so watch out.

Is the gas old? Try New gas and getting Fuel Injector Cleaner.

Where is the fuel filer on a 1994 jeep wrangler

Both the 4 and 6 cyl, are the same location, under the Jeep, driver side, mounted on the frame (under seating area).

1994 Jeep Wrangler hard to keep running

The fuel pump is located in the gas tank and the filter is right in front of the tank on the inside of the frame. I have never worked on that particular throttle body, but if it has a throttle position sensor, that could be what your problem is.
