2013 grand caravan-code P0520 what can I do and to locate the oil pressure sensor switch?

Oil Pressure switch monitors the pressure in the main oil gallery and most manufacturers find it convenient to fit the switch or sensor directly into the main oil gallery, the oil pump housing in the case of an external pump or in some cases into the oil filter head.

Oil pressure switches and sensors do fail from time-to-time and replacement is mostly simple and inexpensive, though sight shouldn't be lost that the code says the fault is the oil pressure switch/sensor circuit - so it could be the wiring, connections, part of the ECU or hopefully, the sensor.

On the 2004 Chevy Malibu where is the oil pressure switch

If your talking about oil pressure switch in parallel with fuel pump relay, doesn't apply with this vehicle. Note the diagram, I looked at info for the 3.5L engine. Check applicable fuses. If you have different engine, let us know. Are you missing anything else? Engine cranking you have spark and fuel injector pulse? Included is location of oil pressure switch for 3.5L

Where is oil sending unit located?

You're vehicle has two sensors for the oil,an oil pressure sensor switch & oil pressure sensor. If oil pressure gets below 6psi,the oil pressure sensor switch will turn a dash light on to let you know the pressure is at a dangerously low amount. So if you've got a dash light on,the pressure sensor switch needs to be replaced. Its located to the right of the oil filter housing,on a 2.0 liter. Its located to the left of the oil filter housing,on the 3.0 liter.
If your oil pressure gauge is reading inaccurately, you need to replace the oil pressure sensor instead. Its located near the ac compressor.

Is there a oil safety switch on 2002 Chevy s10 zr2

You have a oil pressure switch which is located by the oil filter,it is screwed into block, just removed electrical connector, get wrench and remove.
  • When the oil pressure is either high or low it will either turn the oil light "on" in the dash or move the gauge to the extremes
  • Undetected high or low oil pressure can result in internal engine damage and/or gasket leakage. Here's a picture of what it look's like.

What engine? 4.7 liter it's right above the oil filter. Typically oil pressure sensors/switches are close to the oil filter on most vehicles.

Is it possible for me to replace the oil sensor switch on my 2000 catera and if so how?

Yes, the sensor is usually near the oil filter. It takes a big deep well socket. 19 or 21mm, something like that. I have pasted the procedure below. The sensor looks like the picture below.
Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the 4 splash shield bolts.
  3. Remove the splash shield.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor/switch.
  5. Remove the oil pressure sensor/switch.
NOTE Use a catch basin to catch escaping oil.
To install:

NOTE Replacement components must be the correct part number for the application. Components requiring the use of the thread locking compound, lubricants, corrosion inhibitors, or sealants are identified in the service procedure. Some replacement components may come with these coatings already applied. Do not use these coatings on components unless specified. These coatings can affect the final torque, which may affect the operation of the component. Use the correct torque specification when installing components in order to avoid damage.
  1. Install the oil pressure sensor/switch. Tighten to 30ft.lbs. (40 Nm).
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor/switch.
  3. Install the splash shield.
  4. Install the 4 splash shield bolts and tighten the splash shield screws until fully seated, do not over tighten.
  5. Lower the vehicle.

P0522 engine code with oil ligth on 2005 SRT 4

By any chance did this start after an oil service. Could be the wrong oil. But my first guess is the wire at the sensor may be loose or the sensor is bad. Oil pressure sensor. Best bet is to have it looked at by a pro because Chrysler has had lots of problems over the years due to oil issues. I'm talking engine destroying oil issues. I'm not saying be concerned but be aware of this in order to make your best decision
