Hi take the cowls from around the ignition switch find the connector use a test light find out the live wire and find ignition wire and starter wire then loop the live to the ignition wire then flash the starter wire across the looped ignition wires it should start if so replace the ignition switch if the problem is the same as when the steering wheels on a lock in other words starts but cuts out you have another problem as well yates210456

Key wont come out motor wont even click whats wrong

Try turning your steering wheel, some of the cars has a safety lock that will lock your tumblers in your ignition and the steering wheel which acts as an anti-theft systems. I would try turning your steering wheel to the left and right as much as you can which will not be much. Yes, I realize it seems a bit goofy, but I had vehicle that would not let go my key, but turning the steering wheel to the left and right and at the same time attempting to turn the ignition to the neutral position to get the key out was the only way to retrieve my key. It keeps people from putting the vehicle into Neutral and pushing your car away without the key.

Why ignition won't turn

By far the most likely reason that one can't turn the key in the ignition is because the car was parked with the wheels turned. There is a security feature that locks the steering when the key is removed to prevent a thief from driving the car.
When the car is parked with the front wheels other than strait, the weight of the car will cause the wheels to try to straiten, If this engages the steering lock pressure is put on the ignition switch.
To start the car, look to see what direction the wheels are pointing. grasp the steering wheel and turn it TOWARD the direction the wheels are turning and now start the car.
Other causes may include wrong key, damaged ignition or other causes that may require a professional.

Grand prix steering wheel locked key comes out

This situation is called "Torque Lock". The Solution is simply to Turn the Steering Wheel Slightly in the Opposite Direction to remove Pressure on the Steering Lock Pawl. Usually this occurs when turning off the Key while Pressure is Applied to the Steering Wheel from a slight "Roll-Back" or from the Power Steering being forced all the way to it's limit in one direction or the other. Always be sure that the Steering is allowed to relax prior to switching the Ignition Switch to the Locked Position. This is a very common problem most frequently experienced by women rather than men. Let me know if this helps!

After inserting key into ignition, key dosent turn to start car

Try moving the steering wheel slightly to the left or right when your trying to turn the ignition key's. If that does not work try the second set of keys. At worst the tumblers has gone bad and the ignition cylinder needs to be replaced at the dealer so they can match the pass lock key's to your ignition switch. Good luck and hope this helps.
