Kia recommends exchange at 60,000 miles ( 100,000 km) or every 72 months whichever occurs first. It is not true that timing chains (not belts) do not need to be replaced - they do only they are being replaced when they start ruttle, some manufacturers recommend every 120,000 miles (200,000 km) but it depends if the engine is used on short distance or long haul. When it snaps it makes a lot of more damage than a timing belt.

The dealer recommends the timing belt be replaced at 60,000 miles if it is a rubber timing belt. Newer Sedona models have a metal chain timing belt that don't need to be replaced so soon.

The recommended interval for changing the timing belt is in the owner's manual. Generally, this is every 60,000 miles.

Charlie

P.S. I found the data on the internet and, it is indeed 60,000 miles.

There is a tensioner pulley for each belt, you loosen the nut on the front of the pulley, then there is a tensioner bolt that you loosen, that will move the pulley away from belt to remove the belt. You'll need to get to them from the passenger side under the car. You'll need to remove the plastic covers to get them.

Has a timing belt, Kia recommends replacement every 60,000 miles, also this engine in an interference engine, which valve to piston damage most likely will occur in the event of timing belt failure.
