Question about 2002 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo S

1 Answer

2002 VW Beetle

My Beetle continues to have driver side turn signal and brake lights burn out. Replace them, then a few days or weeks later, burn out again. Repairman said he has seen another Beetle with same problem with headlight. What's going on?

the VW beetle has a plastic radiator, where the cap is if you look to the front of that it does a 90, it is cracked there. Here is the fun part, with a throx wrench ( I think it was a T-30) take apart the fenders and front bumper. At the auto parts store there is a plastic tank repair kit, the kit includes resign, fiber glass cloth, and a stick. You will need to rough up the crack as it is right where it angles and lay on the cloth and resign. Let it dry and it will not leak from there again. Good Luck Tim

Sometimes quality of the bulbs are suspect in these cases. Check all connections at the assembly for any corrosion or looseness. I believe these also had a problem with the brakelight switch just above the brake pedal. My guess would be the connection at the brake light assembly or the socket where the bulbs go in.
