Question about 2000 Cadillac DeVille
I took the battery cable a loose and put it back, now car wont start, how do I get car out of anti-theft mode?
On your key is a diode. Ohm test it . Your ignition is expecting to see that ohm. You can try to reset it by turning key on( no crank) for 10 min. Then turn off and repeat a second time. Then try to start, might work. 2 options replace ignition ( not so cheap on this model) 2nd option ohm key and build resistor to match. On steering column there is an orange wire going from column to bottom corner of wire harness above drivers
left foot. Inside that orange wire are 2 white wires. Cut and wire in resistor to the white wires on harness side not column side. System bypassed, now you can make a dollar copy of key not the 50$ key from dealer and never have the problem again
