Once I have a problem similar the mecanic solve it by soldering the air bag cables under the seats, because the plugs having bad conections. its easy and cheap.

I would think the engine would crank and start with the airbag deployed. I would check for voltage at the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch. You might have to get a shop manual to trace the starter circuits.
You need to have a competent shop look at your SRS system (air bags) one of the sensors are either corroded, loose or shorted and needs to be inspected by a shop. They can also reset your light after they discover what triggered fault. (Sometimes it's as easy as a loose contact)
release fuel cap may have an air locked tank ! try this then check fuel lines buy by slackening end nuts after cranking, what have you got, bubbles or squirting clean fuel ? good luck
