Sounds like you have a front suspension issue, there are alot of parts it could be, the first thing I would do is jack the front up to get tires off the ground and shake all the suspension parts really good, they should all be stiff, another option is take it to a shop that does alignments, they will quote you what is wrong and what will fix it :)

What is causing the steering wheel to get stiff and easy again while turning in 2004 ifiniti i35? I have checked the fluid and it i s not making any noise. Please help

Check the power steering belt is loose, if not must check the power steering pump pressure ratings, the steering rack maybe faulty or check if the tires are not touching the inside the wheel-well while turning your wheels.

I have stiff steraing and when I turn left I hear a slight grinding noise coming from the left front tire area

stiff steering could be slipping belt for the power steering. while stationary, turn wheels to left and have a look back of wheel see if anything catching, only way.

Inside of front tyre going bald

Just one tire or both? Likely you need an alignment done, but other things can cause tire balding and cupping. Brakes pulling to one side or other can also cause tires to wear prematurely and unevenly. Worn Shocks/Struts are also culprits. Worn or broken bushings in the suspension. Also, bearings starting to seize up can cause this as well. In other words, a BUNCH of things can cause the problem. If you have no issues with steering, handling, braking, it is likley just a simple alignment is needed. Take it in to a reputable place and they can diagnose the exact cause and suggest repair needed. Good luck.

Front end clunck noise on front left with severe tire wear on the inside of tire.happens going strait and on turns over bumps

ball joint has gone or could even be the wheel bearing. jack up the front with wheel on and hand on wheel 9 to 3 and wiggle and then 12 to 6 do the same if there is alot of movement the bearing has gone. ball joint check all the connectors on that side steering etc if they move side to side easy then the ball joint has gone they should be stiff to move.

Front is making noise when I turn

Kim:

Check your wheel bearings and ball joints. Checking the wheel bearings: stand next to the front tire, crouch down, put your hands on the top of the tire, and try to rock the top of the tire by pushing the top of the tire away from you and pulling the top of the tire toward you (rock it hard and fast). do both front tires. Any noise or sideways movement of the tire is bad, (Bearings are worn) and needs to be repaired. Then, stand at the front corner of the car, and push down on the front corner of the car repeatedly (rocking the corner of the car up and down (Rock it up and down Hard) If you hear the popping noise your ball joints need to be replaced. If these tests don't work but you still get the popping noise when you drive, take the car to a mechanic. Popping noises from the front end of a car is dangerous. If anything happens up there, you could lose your steering!

Loud grinding noise under hood, oil like substance on a belt, Power Steering Stiff, has PS fluid

Almost sound like your rack and pinion cylinder has gone bad. I would start by cleaning the area real well to get rid of the oil. With the car running have someone sit inside and turn the wheels from left to right while you stand and watch to see if you can see oil leaking and from where and also to see if you can tell where the grinding is coming from. Please do not try to clean the engine with it running as you will get burned from heat and your clothes may become tangled in moving parts.

Steering wheel pulls when turning on a curve and my tires are wearing down because of this

check the air pressure and make sure all tires have the same psi in them. If they do, take it in for a front end alignment or a 4 wheel alignment.

How can i fix stiff steering on my bmw 316i

Assuming you have power steering, check fluid level in power steering system.
Check that the power steering pump belt has not fallen off.
Tires that are nearly bald can make the steering effort higher.
Do you have wheels that are not made for this car that have the wrong offset?
Check the strut bearings to see if they are frozen. Look under the front fenders while someone else turns the steering wheel. The strut and spring should turn with the wheel. If the top of the spring does not turn, then the strut bearings need to be replaced.

Locked steering wheel

Sounds like the rack is broken inside steering column. This happened to me while getting tires replaced at pep-boys. Try moving the tilt wheel up and down while turning key.
