Question about 2002 GMC Denali

1 Answer

I have a 2001 GMC Yukon. It was running fine until two days ago. I went to start it on Saturday and it would only make a clicking noise. I was able to start it with jumper cables. I drove for an hour and then when I parked and turned off the engine it went dead immediately. I was not even able to unlock the doors. I was able to jump start it again and make it home. Again when I turned it off, it was completely dead immediately. I bought a new battery and installed it this morning. The Yukon will now start without having to be jumped, but when I take my foot off of the accelerator it dies immediately. As long as I push on the accelerator the engine runs. There are no noises coming from anywhere. All of the gauges read normal and there are no messages on the dashboard. Could it be because it in a new battery and I have to do something else after replacing it or does it sound like something else?

I had the same exact problem with my chevy s-10, but once i replaced the battery it ran fine no problem, u may have fried some circuits and relays while jumping the car, and alot of times that clicking noise is your relay burning out, did your car start doing weird things too? like ejecting cd's, flashing lights really fast and weird noises?

Why do my all my lights work on my 2001 GMC jimmy except my low beams.

Replace the turn signal switch. All the exterior lights run threw it except the high brake light. There is a small plastic clip/switch in it that controls high and low setting. Because of heat it starts to melt and quits working.

While in stop and go traffic my brake pedal went

check the brake fluid level, if its low, there may be a leak, if the level is good, the master cylinder is bad.

It sounds as if your alternator may have gone out. If you take the Yukon by an autoparts shop (Checker, Autozone, etc.), they can run a quick charging system test for you. Good luck!

Yukon attiude problem

when changing the battery on a General motors product you run the risk of erasing the PCM you will probably have to go to the dealer and have it reprogrammed please only go to the dealer if not done right you will have more problems.
