Note the odometer reading. Fill the tank completely. Drive for 500-2000 km, refilling the tank as necessary, and recording exactly how much fuel is required each time to refill. At the end of the test, refill the tank one last time - recording how much fuel it required - and note the odometer reading again.
Add up all the fuel used in the entire test, NOT including the first fillup but INCLUDING the last one. The result is the fuel consumed during this test.
Subtract your starting odometer reading from your ending odometer reading. The result is the exact number of km traveled during this test.
Divide the number of km by the number of liters (km/l) to get your average fuel efficiency.
You would fill up the vehicle, then divide the mileage traveled by the amount of fuel it took to fill the tank again. So assuming you filled the tank each time, you would divide 609km by 100.4 ltr which is .1648 or 16.49 L/100km Thats about 40 mpg.
Hi, the CRV typically gets 9.5 litres per 100 Km, the gas tank on a CRV is 58L. You should be able to go about 610km on a single tank, but that is a FULL tank to EMPTY. I'd suggest filling up every 500-550km to be safe.
I DONT KNOW THE CODES OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE AN EXHAUST LEAK AT THE FRONT OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND THE OXYGEN SENSORS DONT KNOW ABOUT IT .IN TURN THEY ARE ADDING MORE FUEL TO YOUR SYSTEM BECAUSE TOO MUCH AIR IS GETTING SUCKED IN TO THE EXHAUST.
Check the following things: air filter, wheel alignment, and timing belt, all of them if not serviced on time can affect your fuel consumption. I do not think its the heat because I drive my car in Phoenix AZ with temperatures comparable to Dubai and I still get 500+ km/tank.
want to get better gas milage
