Question about 2001 Audi A4
Hi my brother is having trouble with his 2001 A4, his window is stuck open and his door does not lock with the central locking, all other windows and doors are fine..
He recently had to change 1 of the spark plug/coils and noticed this afterward, not sure if it can be connected or just bad luck??
thanks a million
I have the same problem with the window stuck half way. But about the drivers door not locking, it is not supposd to. It is a Audi saftey feature so you do not lock your keys in the car. You have to lock the whole car with the remote on the key or by putting the key in the lock and doing it manually. Also when you hold the key in the unlock position for a sec it puts all the windows down and when you hold it in te lock it puts the windows up.

Either his window regulator went bad or the window has jumped off the track. I had to replace my window regulator in my 2000 Audi A4, and what a job if you plan on doing it yourself you will need a drill to drill out the riviets then new rivets to put back in. I found some Nuts and bolts to replace the rivets. I dont know what to tell you about the door locks I would tell you to have someone put the VAG tester on the car to see if it is a malfunction.

Has he checked for a blown fuse. The fuse box is found by opening the drivers door and pulling the panel off the end of the dashboard. The panel should have a fuse remover attached to the back of it to make it easier.

Before you replace anything, inspect the connector pins in both the driver's door switch and the passenger door switch. If you don't find any problem with these connector pins, replace the driver's door control switch.
