It means: Secondary Air Injection System Control "B" Circuit Low

from a forum: http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?p=3801323...

"Even if you know the code is P2259 (AZ or ADV) it doesn't tell you if it's a short, a dirty valve or a bad solenoid valve AND it's a dealer only part.

So you have to pay the dealer $113 to receive the code you all ready know P2259 which is not charged if you need an actual fix.

Part #KL01-18-741 Solenoid Valve $144.83 (+ tax)

Labor to evaluate 3 conditions (3 hours) causing this code and disassemble intake $329.85 "Replace Secondary Air Valve"

Okay they are into you now for $474.68 plus some tax.

Sounds terrible right?!

So since you paid to open up the intake it's only $140 more for a complete ZFIS Fuel Induction Service.

So for $614 + some tax you are out the door with a car wash and your car runs alot better for another 60,000 miles."

That's an error code. check the manual and find out the corresponding error first. or else get it checked by a dealer. u might have to supply them ur VIN number.

I have a 2004 Mazda RX8. When I start the car, the power steering light is coming on sometimes and I lose power steering. It will stay on for the entire trip.

The power steering system needs to be scanned for fault codes like steering angle sensor and other sensors in the system.

My 2004 Mazda Rx8 check engines are P2259 and P0661. Can you tell me what this means.

P0661 is an SSV Solenoid problem. P2259 is an A.I.R. solenoid problem. they both have power coming from the Main Relay. its complicated but make sure the fuses are good EGI Comp 1 and the AIR PUMP other than that the dealer will need to check it.

I had my 2004 Mazda Rx8 get an Engine Diagonistic@ Advance Auto & I got this code which I cannot decipher U0100-lost comm. with Engine control/Power Train Engine control Mod A.Could yiu please explain...

Codes that begin with the letter U are always communication fault codes between modules in a CAN system. They are basically to be ignored unless a problem is occuring. This is because all of the control modules in your car ( and there are a bunch of them ) are all communicating to each other and sending information between each other on one set of wires called a "twisted pair" Due to the high volume of infomation being sent and received there is the invevitable time when a message will be sent from one module to another and it is lost or not responded to in a timely manner (meaning in milliseconds) When this occurs then a U0100 or other comm fault code is stored.

Low acceleration and no power

i would take those 2 coils off and check the backing of the packs. any discoloration indicates they are bad or going bad. coils may be working, but not to full potential due to grounding issues.

Mazda RX8 Engine Failure

hi,

see if you can find a local mechanic-not agent who works on mazdas (RX-7s,) take it there or call them and see what they can do. maybe the older style rotary can be retrofitted. maybe call some junkyards and see what they have. You might be able to replace the expensive rotary with a standard mazda 4 cyl(miata) as well. not as much fun, but mazda 4 cylinders are pretty good motors if taken care of.
