Question about 2007 Chrysler Town & Country LX New Cars

2 Answers

The vehicle starts up, but will go out after running. Then it will start right back up. It might do this several times. When you drive the highway it will buck, but keep running. It might do this for several times, or it might run several miles before it does it again. There are no codes, and the check engine light is not on.

2007 T&C : I had the same startup and shudown problem. I made (4) useless trips to the dealer and no resolution. I gave up and decided to think on my own. Since it mimics a faulty fuel pump, I found (under the hood in the fuse box), a fuel pump relay. I swapped it with the 'wiper/delay relay - (since it's the exact same part no#), and VIOLA!! My car starts and stays running every time. So far - so good. If the wiper delay ever stops working - I'll know why.
As for the bucking problem, are you sure it's the motor and not the Transmission - Like Mine... Hint: my 'bucking' occurs between 40 - 65mph, primarily on level surfaces and especially when I 'gently' increase the speed. Mine only happens in the overdrive gear - needless to say, my next stop is the transmission shop.
Good luck with yours.

When was the last time you changed the air filter? Injectors may be clogged, walmart has a cheap fuel injection service. The fuel filter may need to be changed as well. All of these items will cause the symptoms you describe. Hope this helps.

Chevrolet Cavalier 2004 quits running while driving down the highway.

need to check fuel pressure, not just listen for pump to run, also check reading on coolant temp sensor, but sounds like fuel pump /filter issue. just because you hear pump run doesnt mean its putting our right amount of pressure. also check for plugged catylic convertor

97 lumina, 3.1. Starts runs smooth, drive for 30

I just recently have been fighting the same problem with the same make/model/year vehicle. For myself, I would drive off and on through the day and it would run fine. Then suddenly after a start it would run rough and die. I would have to wait 20 to 60 mins before it would start again. I had it checked and fuel pump was only putting out around 19 psi. It should be around 41 psi. Had fuel pump replaced and no more problems. Furthermore, now it runs so much better. It's funny how over time I didn't notice how the performance was slowly degrading. Unfortunaley fuel pumps for this car run around $300.

Driving down the highway engine just stops and it loses all power. Pulled over and it started right back up. This has now happened several times?

Sometimes your car will just plain stop running if you have a faulty coil wire. I had this problem before where it didn't matter what time of day or the weather, it turned out to be a coil wire. Good luck!

Vehicle won't restart after driving for a while

You said it's runs fine, but it just won't start after driving a while. If thermostat or temp sensor was bad you'd be overheating. It sounds like a vapor lock. Good luck

What does it takes for a toyota tacoma 2000 v6 to complete the rediness test, not showing cat and evap been completed. fail smog test because the rediness test is not completed but the emissions levels...

It needs a "drive cycle". Start & run it, highway speeds, and then pull over & idle several times, then do city traffic "stop & go" driving, and then sustained highway speeds again. This completes the readiness thest and satisfys all of the monitors.
