Xjs jaguar wont start but there is fuel and spark

It was sitting for nine years? Normal cars I would tell you that things are probably gummed up and need to be cleaned and replaced. Jag....save the time and the frustration and have a professional tune this one up and get it running. I say this as a do it yourselfer. If you want to tackle this yourself just take your time and be methodical about everything you do. Not as forgiving of a vehicle.

1996 jag xjs , the battery is dead , I need to jump start it but the trunk won't open ,battery in the trunk , can it be jumped from under the hood ? and why won't the trunk open even with a key ?

The trunk latch is operated by a solenoid which it requires power to operate. since the batery is flat then it won't work. I'm not sure where the positive terminal is under the hood but you can connect the positive lead to the alternator wire terminal, and the negative lead can be connected any where on the engine.
Good luck......

I have 1985 jag xjs running rich.I replaced fuel injectors , fuel pressure regulator , and water temperature sensor . the car is running rich in idle black smoke coming out of exhaust and files out the...

You may not have all the things I list. these are things that will make an engine run rich. ECM, 02 sensors, map sensor, mass air flow sensor, vacuum leaks, throttle position sensor, Clogged air filter, Clogged catalitic converter. You have already replaced the injectors and the ECT , so that rules them out. Check for codes. Start with vacuum leaks. Hoses and the intake manifold gaskets. If you need more info let me know.
