Question about 2002 Dodge Stratus

1 Answer

2002 Stratus my daughter had an accident and damage the left side of the wheel. I've replaced the struts, spindle and the rim. My car runs good but I hear a loud noise in the wheel. Also my ABS light comes on now. I'm thinking maybe I need to replace the upper control arm because it looks lower than the left upper control arm.

Why would my car shake no matter what rim and tire I use?

you don`t say if you had the wheel/tire balanced. you could have damaged the CV joint on that side causing a binding in the bearing.

Replace front drive axle

Probable front end suspension damage that has put the wheel alignment out . To need to replace the axle and rim indicates that the strut an lower support arm will also be bent. Have the front end inspected and a wheel alignment done

you could of snapped the bumper pins. if the front bumper looks out of shape lift up if it does lift up and go back down the pins have snaped. you will need to replace the pins and maby the plastick holders.

I have a bent rear passenger side tire due to an accident, how do I fix it?

sounds like a hard hit ur problems can be an accumulation of one or more of the following bent rim --,bent and or broken hub,-- spindle bent or broken, shock, strut bent,broken--unibody [frame]bent ---u will have to remove wheel and look at the parts and see which is damaged also open trunk and look at the floor for bends and wrinkles also look at rear from back and look at the body for straightness unless u have a straightener for the unibody to fix body and or frame should be done by shop that is trained in repairs r the parts which ever part or parts need to be replaced they are all bolt in only worry would be replacing the strut if ur chevy came with that option most had a shock

How to replace front passenger wheel hub on 1991 lincoln continental

This is not a bolt on hub but rather a press on hub, the wheel bearing will need replacing also, remove wheel, remove the caliper and hang off to side, next remove the brake rotor, next is to remove the axle nut. a matter of fact you without power tools should do this first, before even removing the wheel use a big rachet and pipe for leverage, remove the axle nut first. with axle nut removed, brake caliper hanging off to side and rotor off. next you will discconnect tierod from spindle and remove nut from lower ball joint, sperate balljoint from spindle. next remove bolts from strut to spindle. note if you have abs make sure to dissconnect wire before trying to remove spindle, with strut bolts out remove spindle. at this point i wouls say a press is needed, take to your local shop and ask them to replace the hub. heres a picture of the hub asm. hope this helps you. good day.2_20_2012_12_26_43_am.jpg

How do I replace driver side front Drive axle for my 98 dodge stratus?

remove the wheel, remove the axle retaining nut, remove brake caliper (to prevent damage to brake hose), disconnect ball joint at the spindle, swing spindle outwards and remove outer axle from spindle, for the inside joint use a prybar and give the axle a quick snap to unlock the snap ring, you are going to lose some fluid so have some on hand to top it up. You may also have to remove the bolt that connects the strut to the control arm to allow for clearance. Be sure to support the vehicle safely before you get underneath.

2002 Dodge Stratus Squeaks

I would check the lower control arm bushings and sway bar bushings for the squeak, and the shaken when breaking means you have warped rotors,if it shakes in the steering wheel its the frt,if the whole car shakes then it usaaly means it is in the rear rotorsor drums.
