My window did the same thing, it dropped, sounded like it wanted to work, but didn't, and it wouldn't go up. So we looked on Ebay for a motor and got it for about $60. I had a friend install it and it works fine now. The door panel is tricky though, so make sure you take it to someone who knows what they're doing.

My transmission fluid fluid is leaking and i took to a mechanic to fix it and he is saying it will cost 200.00 ui feel im getting ripped off can u please help before i do this and im also on disabil;ity...

didnt advise what or where leak is but if it is leaking at the seal where the engine and trans meet than thats not to bad for seal a replacement because he would have to separate the two to do repair and that takes time and time is money average $65 per hour labor at most places if it seems excessive get a second opinion or check around ur area and look for a college-or an auto motive school they usually look for jobs and usually charge a small fee for the lift usually around $20 -50 tops and u can buy or they can order parts needed for repair

Hello the wrench symbol could be a head light or signal bulb, or low fluid in the engine compartment you will have to really be most observant to pin point it.However check engine light will need to be tested with a OBD2 scan tool to retrieve your cars malfunction this usually cost from$25.00 up? plus the cost of parts and labour. It would only be guessing to try and begin to figure out what the engine fault would be without doing the OBD2 Engine scan hope this information was a help to you. Merry Christmas.

Make sure the alternater belt is the correct tension....If its been recently replaced, it may have been a size too big. Have you also had the regulator checked for output?

Is there a specific code for the radio. we bought the car recently and had to change the battery. now we cant turn on the radio. is says "code"

Yes there is; and if you do not have it you are at the mercy of the dealer to get it for you. They will most likely charge you for this. Once you get it, write it down in a few places and in the owners manual. This will happen again when a battery dies or has to be disconnected for any reason. I would look through everything you own for that car to see if you can find the card withthe code on it in the owners manual or loose in the glovebox or console before I took it to the dealer though. What a great little feeling that factory radio security gives you, huh?

I have a dodge caravan 2002 it wont charge put on new alternator, and computer. it still wont charge. the wire on the back of the alternator is not showing any fire?

Why do you feel it isn't charging. Are you going off of a voltage ereadiing? I ask because if it is reading 12 v at the battery , Do not run it very long. The lower the voltage the higher the amps. An Alternator will ocweheat and self destruct if it is working at its high limit for 15 minutes or so. A heavy charge iis normal for 30 seconds or so to make up for the starting drain. But, should show a gradual rise within seconds. An alternator is for battery charge maintenance only and should never be used to charge a dead battery. A dead battery can an will over tax the alternator for too long. A defective battery will do the same thing and it is usually why you have to change the alternator in the first place. So, If your battery is dead or extremely lpw, it should be charged with a charger Do not put a new or rebuilt Aly. sgainst a possible bad battery. It costs nothing to have your batt load tested by a auto parts store. Good Luck=Ned-.

Our dodge truck had a check engine light on, so we took it to dodge to get fixed. I told them to put on analyser to find problem. They did (so they are charging me for) and said they found the problem. i...

The first time you went in, it sounds like all they did was a maintenance. If you took it to a common mechanic shop it would have cost you about half the cost. So unless you have a warranty through the dealership, never take it there again. A quality mechanic will do the same work for a fraction of the cost. I would go get your money back for the main reason that they replaced the spark plugs, and now there are spark plug problems. As for the engine light, you can go to a main parts store and they can plug in an analyser, or OBD II reader and tell you what code it is or just the code. If all they give you is a code, go home and google the code with you make and model and it will tell you what it is. The code it tells you is just what the ECU(computer) says, it doesn't diagnose the problem. As for your new problem, you could be in some real deep water. If the spark plug tip welded itself to the cylinder wall and your cylinder hit it and broke, seals broke, or messed up your compression, you could very well have a dead cylinder

Car wont start . took it to pep boys they said not the ignition

Well I would suggest looking up the cost of the ignition switch yourself, this way you can figure out how much they are overcharging you for the part and figure out the labor charges. I would look into replacing it yourself if it comes down to that being the problem, most cars aren't hard to do. BUT, if it tested good already and a wire is bad to the starter that would be the place to start. If it doesn't work after that, move to the next step. You can also have it scanned and see if any codes come up, those cars are notorious for having cam/crank shaft sensor issues. Good luck!

Santa fe wont start.

Clean & scrape battery connections well to assure good electrical contact. Charge battery fully on charger. When you get it started after this, make sure that car is charging battery , first by lights on panel, and then by external measuring device if necessary and available. Many new batteries come uncharged, so that may be your main problem. Costco is a good source of reasonable cost quality batteries, but you may have to charge them and they may not install. Walmart probably good also. Both places allow returns. Follow all safety warnings on battery hookup, as hydrogen explosions are very rare, but very bad when happening, prevented by keeping sparks caused by connecting AWAY from top of battery!
