Re: Van stalls ocassionally after filling up at gas...
Maybe the gas cap is faulty - it should be able to vent, but if it does not vent fast enough, a vacuum can be created in the tank that prevents gas from going to the engine. Try leaving the cap on LOOSE next time after a fill and see if it helps. If it does, buy a new gas cap.
same problen
I have the same problem - dealer has no solution.
2004 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup does exactly the same thing. Helllllllp!
2005 Dodge Grand Caravan stalls after gas fill up. The van will stall while driving. After a few tries, it will start again and run fine.
I have bought a replacement cap and the problem continues ... I think that was a good idea and may be the problem in some cases.
Thanks for your advice.
There is a canister located under the car that can go bad. The replacement cost is about $100 for parts. There are three hoses leading to the canister which is located approximately under where the driver's feet would be. Replacing the canister appears to have solved my problem. Thanks for the advice on the gas cap ... I tried that first.
