If its running o.k. Than I would bet the check engine light is on because there are codes for system too lean.
Burn off the tank of e-85 as soon as you can, than fill with regular unleaded. The light should go out after several drive cycles after everything has gone back to normal or you can swing by ou local parts store and see if they can clear the codes
The check engine light comes on to tell you there is a problem with engine management (computer controls). It has nothing to do with vehicle maintenance.
Have the computer scanned for trouble codes. If the light is on there will be codes. If it is flashing it means the problem is a little more urgent and the catalytic converter could be damaged as a result of the current problem. Typically flashing check engine lights indicate there is a cylinder misfire.
it can mean many things. that light means that something is not right with your engine. i can describe you many reasons why that light is on.
normaly if you get that light you should go to your mechanicien. if your car runs well, it might just be a dump thing like changing the oil, or changing the engine band, or changing the engine ingniters and so on...
It me Bear001 I believe I found your code Its a, EGR valve Lift insufficiant Detedcted. So Maybe you can take it out and just clean it with a good cleaner and the light should be reset again like we talked about,
I sure hope that help you out and if not let me know I do have an new computer with all the goodies now LOL
Take Care Bear001
Do a self test. Turn key to on position and back to off position 3 times. a series of flashes will commence from the "check engine" light. The first set of flashes is the 1st digit of the code, then there will be a pause, then a 2nd set of flashes, This will be the 2nd digit of the code. For example, 3 flashes, pause, 7 flashes, means code 37. Check what the code means in a Haynes auto repair manual. This will tell you what the engine light on your car means.
