For a tune up with most newer cars all you need is spark plugs, spark wires, and boots if you have coil packs but that should come with the wire bundle. If you have a Distributor system. Then you need a distributor cap and button. With the spark plugs and wires. If you never did a tune up before. Replace the wires one at a time matching the wires in length. This makes sure that the firing order is correct. Check your pcv valve, and air filter.

No spark to engine 1991 ford pickup

It can be faulty or dirty spark plug itselfd.Also for reference get the fuel level checked.Is the fuel tank is empty or near to empty.
Try cleaning the spark plugs and then see if that is helpin.On some cases the black carbon layer gets collected on the spark plugs and that causes the problem,so cleaning the plugs help.But if its not helping,then spark plug has to be replaced.Spark plugs get power from ignition coil to ignite sparks.If ignitioncoils are faulty then also there will no spark.--------------

Engine vibration whem stopped

Probably a miss in one or more cylinders. That means a miss fire at low engine speed.
May need a "Tune Up" which in modern cars means new Spark plugs and plug Wires. Maybe a distributor cap too.
Post a new one with more details year make. model etc.. mileage..

Service engine soon light on; diagnostic code states: cylinder 7, Misfire

you need to have your engine tuned up, unless it's been done recently. misfire means it's not getting fire or fuel to #7 plug. you may have a plug wire bad or a bad spark plug on #7 if you go to effort of sending it to garage just to replace one plug or wire,you'll pay labor for whole tune up. wires,plugs, and maybe a bad coil pack. suggest you have tuned up with new plugs and wires. also while they are there, have them check fire to #7 plug on coil first before you do a complete tune up. thank you for choosing

One of the engine cylinders is mis firing (did a code check). the check engine light initially flashes when first driving, then remains on -does not flash any longer) would that damage the catalytic...

it is very important to keep the engine tuned up, and yes an engine miss fire could damage the catalytic converter. the 1990 does not have a code for a miss fire it is probley just a bad spark plug or spark plug wire, and remember when it comes to spark plug wires you get what you pay for.....have fun

Here is the diagram you ask for. While it says it is for the 3.0L V6, it is the same for the 4.0L V6 if that's what you have...

Cranks but won't start.

It should be tune up as replace the cap, rotor, spark plugs, wires, PCV vale and Mass flow meter. so many problem when this happen.

My car wont start,its not battery,just had tune

Is it acting like its out of gas. Also is it turning over but not starting. are u getting spark from ur spark plugs. When it was tuned up did the shopmess up the firing order of the distributor especially its a newer car. it could be teh fuel pump, filter etc. if its one of those its usually back by the tank. Also to see if ur getting spark u can pull a spark plug out plug it into one of the wires and set the spark plug on part of the engine and have someone turn it over u will see spark out of the end of it if u dont then thats ur problem. also it may be a relay. Overall u will want a manual so it can be pinpointed better also run some codes on it if u know how to.

My engine light is on and the code machine is saying multiple miss fire, and i have just had a recent tune up.

Multiple misfire is determined by the O2 sensors. misfire can be the result of spark not reaching the cylinder from the coil (due to bad plugs/wires), or it can be the result of the coil not initiating the spark or not being told to initiate a spark by its inputs. if the tune up did include plugs and wires and was done without damaging any new components (broken plug during install, separated wire from connector inside boot, etc.), then perhaps the source of the misfire is in the primary ignition components (coil pack, crank sensor, ECM, etc.). Recommend wiggle each wire near the plug to ensure there is no broken plug or broken wire connector. This is more reliable if done while the engine is running, but know that if there is an arc somewhere in the secondary ignition it very well may shock your fingers (this is not dangerous, but better to be prepared than surprised by it)
