Question about 1995 Honda Accord
My driver's side window does not work. I checked the fuse box and the fuse for the window keeps blowing everytime I try to operate the window. I suspect there is a short somewhere. Any suggestions of what to try.
Thank you for any help offered.
You need to take the controls apart and clean the contact for the switch with compressed air or wd-40. It gets pretty dirty in there over the years

Does it make any noise at all? Is it trying to move and just won't? I have a similar problem with mine. Sometimes I have to pull up on the window as it's being rolled up to help it. I took the door apart to figure out why this was. The window rides in a track located in the middle of the window. The track is metal and the piece attached to the window is plastic which over time will wear out binding and therefor causing the window to rise slowly. In your case, it may be worn to the extent that when you try to use it, it doesn't move and therefor causing your motor to burn up.

To check where is the short circuit.
1- remove the door panel. to get axces to the window motor.
2- Disconnect the plug from the motor.
3- Test the motor giving power direct to the motor with a fused wire..
4- if the fuse blowout thye problem is the motor. But if not.
5- with the motor disconnected and the new fuse on the fuse block.
6- push UP and DOWN the botton on the switch.
