Question about 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
I had the same problem. after tons of trouble shooting i traced it back to the switch. bypassed the switch with a jumper and it popped the trunk. I then took apart the switch and cleaned the contacts which had carbon buildup on them. this saved me the money for a new switch and fixed the problem. good luck.

SOURCE: My trunk on my 2006
Sounds like it's just stuck a little. Unlock it with the key and at the same time, pull up on the trunk lid hard. If that doen't work, look for a blown fuse.
