Idle and light flickering - PT Cruiser Chrysler Cars & Trucks

Bad connection or chaffed wiring touching the metalwork.

Clean the throttle body inside and the idle air control motor.This will help.

Most likely your sensor is too sensitive and detects the low oil pressure that exists in idle .... you oil pump is not functioning fully and at idle fails to produce the right pressure. Lastly,your idle could be set too low. try increasing the idle slightly (you don't want it too high) and see if that solves the flickering light problem

check your oil pressure switch its probably has oil inside the connector clean it out and replace your oil pressure switch

most have an idle stop screw thats adjustable with a phillips screwdrivewr or a nutdriver head..need to adjust this to between 750-800 minimum..your oil light will go out and proper rpm on the alternator will be achieved..

Do the lights flicker brighter than they are at idle or dimmer? If they flicker brighter, voltage regulator in alternator is suspect. If they flicker dimmer, you likely have a loose power cable either on the battery or on the fuse and relay center or on the alternator.

Is the idle at the right rpms sounds like it is at a low idle.

sounds like idle speed is to low,need to have rpm checked against manuf.suggested rpm

with a 2002 Concord 3.5 V-6, what should the rpm be at 60mph? 70 mph?

I'm not sure if the overdrive gear is lost in the tranny, but the transmission light is on.
