1)First dismantle the batteryleads to avoid electric hazard.
2)Dismantle the steering wheel by taking the centre cover of with a screwdriver carefully, and then take the wires of the centre cover to the horn, loosen the nut 24mm in the middle but dont at first take it off, then wobble, and pull the steering wheel towards your self till it loosens, then dismantle the nut and take the steering wheel off.
3)Unsrew the 2 srews in the undercover and take the upper and undercover off.
4)dismantle the 2 or 3 screws (depending on model) pointing towards you, holding the wiper and blink contacts, dismantle the electric cable connections from the contacts and then remove the contacts from the casing.
5) remove the bolt in the housing (aluminium) holding the ignitionswitch, located from down without a head, needs a hammer and a chisel, can be hard to loosen.
6) turn the key clockwise so it pulls back the slot from the steering axel.
7) remove the electrical cables from the ignition switch.
8) pull the aluminium housing toward yourself sliding it upwards
9) exchange the lock, casing and electrical bottom piece all together and insert a new bolt in the aluminium housing
10) reverse to install

2010 corolla key stuck in ignition

It can be faulty ignition lock cylinder.I suggest to wiggle the steering wheel a bit and see if the key gets released out.If that is not helping then first turn steering wheel to right and try removing the key,or next turn steering wheel to left and see if you can remove the key.
----------
Spray wd-40 in the ignition key hole and let it remain there for few minutes, after that once again try to remove the key and see if that helps.
---------
But if that is not helping then ignition lock cylinder has to be removed out and key has to be manually removed.

This car has a chip key, you can't just put any old key in it it must be programmed to not turn on the security system and disable starting, which is what you have now, the system has locked you out.

If the starter does not turn the engine over you will get no spark. Lets start over. You turn the key , does the engine turn over ? Does it turn over and not crank up and run?

Key stuck in ignition of 1996 Toyota 4Runner

This truck has a switch in the shifter assembly that tells the ignition the truck is in Park or not. If the shifter doesn't hit that switch right this can happen. Also, there is a component in the ignition (a solenoid) that allows the key to be released if the Park switch is pushed. To be sure it's one of these two things, try this.... Get the key stuck, then disconnect the battery. If the key comes right out, it's either the switch or the solenoid. Good luck!

Poss ignition problem

Hello!

Sounds like a stuck ignition relay.
Try tapping with something ******* the ignition switch when this happens, see if it helps.
If it does consider replacing the ignition switch.

Hope this helps!
