I need a new heater core for my 2001 Saturn L300. Any idea where I can purchase this part or waht the part # might be?

Many times a heater hose is so tight that even after you have removed the hose clamp you can't get it lose. If you can't get a pair of pliers to lightly twist the hose you may have to make a longitudinal cut on the hose with a knife or exacto knife to loosen it and then replace the hose after you get if off.

your heater core is leaking water it's located underneath the passenger side dash,its a big job to replace you will need to take it to the shop,there is no drain hole,hope this helps

hope u have time to do this ,should take 6 to 8 hrs to do,first study ur dash board because it has to be disconnected from frame n lifted up and the steering wheel needs to be lowered down to get to the case that holds ur core,then slowly un bolt all caseing bolts should be 4or5- 8mm n 2- 10 mm

u will need it up on jack stands so u can get under the car to them

mine did same thing. It was just the o-rings on pipes where they slide into heater core simple and cheap fix. do it yourself.

Mine was doing same, but also revving up weird. I replaced the Crankshaft position sensor and it didnt work. Today I changed the Engine coolant temp sensor and it fixed my problem. Hope this helps!!

Most of the time it's a bad heater core, but don't overlook something simple like a pin-hole in a hose or damaged clamp.

i dont know where emissionwiz gets his information. go to pass side and remove lower kickpanel on center console. remove black plastic clips on heater core lines. remove the phillip head screw on retaining clip and slide out heater core. all this after draining coolant. should take about 20 min.

You are not the only one. Ive met a good many of Saturn owners (most were 2001 L300 drivers) but they were plagued with the problem you have and practically identical codes. The following remedies have been known to work:

1. Replacement Battery Cable
2.Replacement ECU Wiring Harness
3. Replacement of ECU

the car needs a body control module. if you try to replace it yourself the car will not run, it needs to be programed by the dealer.
