Make sure the shift linkage is in park or neutral, you might just need to adjust the linkage!

2011 dodge ram 1500 sometimes want start and sometimes do star what could be causing the problem fit not to start

have seen issues with power distribution center not sending power to fuel pump on several different chrysler products in this age range, there have been issues with the fuse boxes internal relays noted and some folks and chrysler have developed work arounds if this is indeed what the problem is, try tapping on the fuse box when it wont start and see if that helps, also listen for fuel pump noise when turning on ignition its absence is usually a pretty good indicator that something isnt quite right.

What causes lose power to power windows and radio and power steering when car is put in reverse

Most generally it is a bad transmission range sensor ( I know it sounds crazy and unrelated) but it's true! My 97 GL did the exact same thing. If you have some basic mechanical skills it is a pretty straight forward repair. Good Luck!

Different transmission for 97 grand cherokee

There were some chrysler transmissions around that year that were year specific, a good wrecking yard can help you, they can look up and see which other years will fit based on your engine size and drivetrain

yes this will fit, model years 88-97 will fit. I would recommend the newest model you can get, as they improved internal hardware after 93. hopefully this helps
