Question about Mazda 323

1 Answer

My sons Mazda 323 has recently had pads all round but we have a situation where after about 8 miles on the road, ALL the brakes start to apply themselves automatically, to the point where if you dip the clutch the car comes to a halt. Master Cylinder perhaps?

Abs sound

Sometimes limited driving can affect the front brake pads and rotors due to corrosion, and dirt...inspect the pads for being worn unevenly...and the rotors for warping...the rotors would also cause the steering wheel to shake when applying the brakes...A small fix for a nice low mileage Ranger:) Hope this helps.

ABS light on, flashing 4wd 2005 Mazda Tribute

Even though your anit-lock brake system light comes on, dosen't mean your brakes will not work. All the ABS does, when applying the breaks, it compensates breaking power like pulsating your pads off and on the rotor in which without ABS your doing the same thing manually by pressing n releasing the brake pedal. And usually half the time it's a sensor that goes out and can be checked at your local autozone or auto parts store where they can plug into your car and will display a code that pertains to your ABS problem. Hope this helps.

When fitting new rear brake pads to a 2004 Mazda 323, how do I move the pistons back into the cylinders to accomodate the new pads?

Applying pressure will make the piston go back in but you can kick and release the brake before the job is done , use a wire band to run over the piston to hold it tight so that it does not move off, the pads can be pushed into with the wire holding the piston till in place when it can be taken off.

Well, get the car up, take the tire off, Take a C clamp the bigger the better since it has ABS. Lock the C clamp on the hammers and tighten. Actually here is my email for diagram it would be easier to describe. onetigerone at hotmail dot com.

I'm trying to replace my front pads there are 2

Replace left and right brake pads at the same time. Do not replace brake pads for one side of the vehicle only.
  1. Raise and support front of vehicle.
  2. Remove tire and wheel assemblies.
  3. Remove pad pins and springs.
  4. Remove brake pads, then shims.
  5. Reverse procedure to install. When installing new brake pads, push caliper piston inward using piston compressor No. 490221600C or equivalent.

Brake Problem

hi im dave
hope i can help
when you had the rear pads applied and the discs turned was there noticeable damage to the disc surface it sounds like your e brake cable is not adjusted properly or perhaps the braided wires inside the insulation are seperating along your brake cable causing the rear brakes to not be adjsting themselves properly. Every time the parking brake is applied the rear brakes are self adjusted if they arent being applied due to slack in or a broken cable you will not adjust your rear brakes. This would accont for the flutter in the brake pedal as hydraulic fluid is still circulating to compress the pads against the rotor but the pads arent reaching the rotor.
