Question about 1996 Isuzu Trooper
I have owned this vehicle for 5 years and it has always had this fault. When driving normally at around 2000rpm, it 'misses'. Most days there's no problem. Then on other days it can happen 20 times.
I've tried using fuel additive to get rid of water but this had no affect.
Any ideas of the cause? Could it be an injector? Or, possibly a vacuum leak?
have you tried changing the fuel filter?
it could definitely be a defective injector or low fuel output at the injectors.
it could definitely also be a vacuum leak at the throttle body, intake manifold or any of the vacuum hoses
ignition timing may be off
engine emission control system may have a fault
cylinder compression may be low or uneven
ignition system may be weak or faulty including glow plug(s)
camshaft lobes or valve train components may be worn

Hi is your 4x4 the 3.0l or 3.1l cos it sounds like a bad injector to me only the 3.0l is electronic(i think)and it may be loosing fuel presure (can be costly)the other 3.1l can be alot easyer to solve put neat fuel cleaner into your filter and alow engine to run then turn off and leave over night next day start up again only this time run on diesil with a mix (in tank of cleaner and fuel)hope this helped
