When something makes that much noise, it deserves attention.

Aside from the noise (which must have you gritting your teeth at every red light), Describe how the brakes are behaving.

  • Does it still stop normally? Less responsive?
  • Does it require more pedal to stop?
  • Does it pull to one side?
  • Any strange odors? Hot smells?
Something to think about:
A car that does not Go, is inconvenient.
A car that does not Stop, is dangerous.

If the brakes are still functioning normally, chances are the pads need to be replaced. A quick, relatively inexpensive process. Barring complications, around $20.00 for parts, an hour or less labor.

For your own safety, I strongly recommend you address this problem a soon as possible. The noise is a warning sign.

Hope this helps, be safe.
Mike

What causes a 2000 hyundai tiburon to have steering problems and a unbearable loud roaring noise as i accelerate

Most likely you are either low on power steering fluid, or the power steering pump has failed. Check the level of fluid, if it is low, top it off and check for leaks.

Front wheel noise

The first thing I would do is inspect the brakes. The brake pads have a metal indicator that will start to rub when the pads get low. It will make a really annoying high pitch squeal. It could also be a condition known as metallic squeal. This would be a metallic particle in the brake pad that is causing the noise. Replacing the pads is a guaranteed fix for this. It could also be a backing plate rubbing or any number of things. Checking the brakes would be a good first step. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Our 1993 jeep grand cherokee has a very loud squeeking coming from the driver side front tire.

First thing to look at is the wear on the brake pads. Most pads have a wear indicator on the and when the pad gets to the replacement point it will emit a very loud more of a high pitched noise to inform you to a brake inspection.

My car makes a sqwealing noise when I press on the brakes

That noise you hear, is the brake indicator, letting you know its time to put new pads on.Its a small tab that scrapes on the rotor when the pads get low
