Changed battery and alternators, but after a few min, alternator putting out 13.5 volts and battery is not being charged. In addittion car dies on iidel.

13.5 volts is not an unreasonable voltage. How do you know it's not taking a charge with the new alternator and new battery? I might have it checked at the battery retailer using their starting/charging testing machine.

If you found damaged cables, might want to first replace them to see if it corrects your problem. While doing this, you may want to check to see if your alternator is performing it's job of charging the truck battery.

Replaced battery and alternator it still wont start unless charger is on boost then runs for 10 min then dies wont restart unless battery charger on it again?

Either the battery is a dud, (cant retain a charge) or the alternator is not charging possibly due to a wire not connecting or wires incorrectly connected or both. Check voltage at the alternator (large terminal) without motor running, should be around 12 to 13 volts

Changed the battery and alternator on my 2006 tundra still not charging. Runs 30 min. And dies . Any help ?

Go through the basics.
1 Make sure the alternator is charging (operating properly) by measuring the voltage between earth (battery negative) and the live terminal. It should be greater than 13 volts, less than 15V.
2 Make sure the regulator is being excited. Most modern alternators need to have the dash light working in order to send a minute current to the alternator regulator to kick it into life. If the dash light is out, (fused) the alternator won't work.
3 If the voltage from the alternator live terminal is good, check the voltage at the battery. It should be between 13.5 and 14.8 Volts. If this reading differs from the reading at the alternator output, you have a wiring issue.
4 Wiring issues may include but is not limited to:
a) bad connection at the battery terminal
b) bad connection at the main fuse,
c) bad connection at the starter motor. Some vehicles pick up the main power from the battery cable at the starter solenoid.
d) broken wire, bad connections on the main power lead connection terminals.

Said alternator was bad

Bad alternator means no battery charge. Run the battery down without a charging means no power and engine will die. Charge the battery and put a meter on it to see if it goes to 14 volts with engine running. If stays under 13 volts with engine running, replace the alternator.

Maybe it wasn't running long enough to charge up the battery?
Stop trying to jump it, when you are having problems with it dying, take the battery off and have it charged. And/or buy a $20 voltmeter to see what the battery shows. If it says less than 12 volts, it is discharged, and needs charging. A good battery that is not run down should have at least 12.5 volts. A new battery that is charged should have very close to 13 volts, maybe 12.8 volts.
When you have the truck running, check the alternator for charging. You put the voltmeter right on the battery and check it again. This time, with truck running, battery should show at least 13.5 volts. That shows the alternator is working. A good alternator will put out about 13 or 14 volts-the regulator will keep it from going any higher to prevent problems, like a melting battery or electrical parts burning out.
I would say get the charging system working right, then address the problem of dying at stop lights. That could be a carburetor problem, if the alternator is working.

Alternator put in and the car won't start and dead new battery'

I am taking it you have a new battery. You put on a alternator. Now you need to charge the battery until it is fully charged. That way the car will run for a while before it stalls from undervoltage. With the battery charged check the voltage at the battery. It should be 12 to 13 volts. Now start the car and check the voltage it should be up to almost 14 volts. If that is good check with lights and heater blower on should be at least 13.5 volts. If the voltage does not increase you either have a bad alternator or it is not getting excited by the ignition switch on the vehicle. So you should find the wire that energizes the alternator and turn the key on it should have 12 volts on it. Hope all this helps. please rate my answer so I get points.

I have a few problems. First my van won't keep a charge. Second my van seems to not be able to go beyond second gear. Next when it was running it would die for no reason.

If it's not holding a charge you could have a bad battery or the alternator is not putting out enough voltage to keep it charged. Have your battery tested at auto zone or advanced auto. Once the battery is ruled out the next thing to do is check the alternator, this can be done with the alternator installed on the vehicle, if you have a digital multi-meter or volt meter you can check alternator out put at the battery. If your D.C voltage reading is more than 13 volts than your alternator is working. Your transmission issue is probably linked to the electrical issue since it is an electronic transmission, and requires a certain amount of voltage to operate properly.

Take a battery that has a good charge on it or 12 volts put it in and start it then take a multimeter and put the red lead on to the power lead on the back of the alternator and ground the black lead.It should read between 13-14.5 volts anything more or less replace alternator.If alternator checks out ok check battery voltage after charging it.Must have at least 12-12.6 volts anything less replace battery.

1986 dodge ram will start but motor dies when headlights are turned on

Your alternator is not putting out enough juice. Before you replace it, take a few minutes to make sure the belt is tightand clean up your contacts. Remove the wire ends, including battery cables, and clean them up with some emery cloth or fine sandpaper and reinstall. Your alternator grounds to the motor so don't forget to clean that too. Run the truck for 5 or 10 minutes to charge the battery a little an d see if that makes a difference. If it doesn't you need a new alternator.
If you have a multimeter you can test it yourself, the output should be at least 12.5 volts up to 13.5 or 14. Below 12 is insufficient. Hopw this helps.
