Question about 1997 GMC Jimmy

1 Answer

Locked out of my car stereo

I have a 1997 GMC JIMMY, I have the original car stereo that came with the car, and the other day my alternator died. Having replaced that I am now locked out of my stereo. I need to know the combination of buttons that need to be pressed in order to enter in my code, and unlock the stereo.

Thank You
Nicole

To enter the code, press the minute and the hour buttons on your stereo! If you have problem or forget your code, there you'll have to hold down the AM/FM button until another code shows up. You'll then have to phone a 1-800 number, enter the authorization code, followed by the code from your CD player.

If this is the case, let me know and I'll get you the numbers!

Just bought it drove all day now it wont start

If the battery was dead before you got it, then you'll need a new one. Sometimes a battery will only hold a charge for a day or two, or even a few hours before it dies.

Check Gadges light went on then car died on me.

this is a shot in the dark but did the check gauges come on then the abs light next ,, was the voltmeter in the dash in the red area? if so your alternator probably quit charging, and if it did you will have to replace it..

If you go HERE you can get a new manual. other than getting a manual I don't know what more you could do. I'd try and see if anyone you know has one first.

Hope that helped,
