It sounds like you have a weak alternator or you have a serious electrical issue. Have charging and starting systems checked.

I am driving down the road and for no reason the engine stalls

Hi BigJoe,

Have you had any issues with your keys/ignition?

I have a Cherokee and a Wrangler. The Cherokee's ignition switch started getting flaky a while back. Sort of doing what you describe.

On mine, engine would die, dash lights out, like the ignition was turned off.

I'd give the tilt a bang and everything was back to normal. I got a replacement at a junk yard for $5.00.

The key symptom is, do the dash lights go out when the engine dies?

If not, disregard.

Mike

1994 Jeep Cherokee with 215,000 miles 4.0 Liter automatic. Engine dies at 2,000 rpms and will coast to a stop and restart. If kept below 2,000 rpms there is no problem. I have replaced fuel relay, a/c...

I would try the crankshaft sensor. About the only thing left in the electrical department. These are known to heat up and fail. Also could be a weak fuel pump, but not as likely as you say it restarts immediately. You should have the fuel pressure checked before replacing it, as it's pretty expensive. ~ $175. I had one that would die intermittently, then it wouldn't restart until you got under the back and kicked the gas tank.

2000 s10 Blazer dies very 3-6 weeks for no reason

i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick

Jeep start runs for a minute then stalls.

Put a new fuel filter on its pluged up. if that dosent fix it do a fuel pressure test.
