Air conditioning not working on my VW New Beetle

The air conditioning suddenly stopped working one day. It was on and working. I shut the car off, came back into the car, turned it on and it wasn't working. I have done some checking under the hood and am not getting power to the pigtail that comes out from the dash. I've checked the fuse box and all fuses look good. Are there any hidden fuses devoted strictly to the AC? Or is there a relay devoted to it? If so, where and how do I get to it???

The fuse may test good, but under the load of the fan/AC - it may fail.

Yes there is a relay under the hood, usually located in the power distribution box and if that doesnt fix it, try checking the low pressure switch, located on the accumulator or the low pressure line. You can check this by unplugging the two wire pigtail and completing the circut with a paperclip

How do you recode the radio in my 2005 vw beetle

You can run your radio a number of days and will not run the battery way down. I had a car that did that and each night when I shut the car off I disconnected one fuse and did that till the battery did not run down. It took several times and I would write down the fuse I pulled. I found something was malfunctioning in my air conditioning switch area. My mechanic replaced something and is ok now. Not saying that is your problem.

Air conditioning

Hi, There is the relay panel which is located in the dash board, driver's side, just above the pedals. You would need to use a Torx Driver No.20 to open the panel above the pedals. Check the fuses under the hood for corroision. They should be locarted on the right hand side looking under the hood. I have a 2000 beetle that I was having problems with. technicans check everything and said all was o.k.. I found a fuse that was burnt up and cover with corroison. I cleaned the terminals replaced the fuse and have had no more problems.
