Power problem on 92 econoline 5.8L van

The van looses acceleration and makes a click noise when you push the gas pedal. If i just barely press the gas pedal it works fine. Occasionally when i start it, it will have this problem just idling and will have to shut it off and later it will work again. When i bought the van i was told they brought the van to get a diagnosis of this and it needed a new map sensor. i just replaced the map sensor and i still have this problem. please help!

My 92 cadillac deville is loosing power after i drive it for so long. I press the gas and it doesnt rev up or speed up unless im barely pressing the gas pedal what is the problem??

Check the air filter for a blockage. If you have a scanner, check to see that the TPS (throttle position sensor) is going all the way from 0% to 100% opening as you press the accelerator down all the way, while the ignition is on and the engine is not running.
Check for codes that might lead to a solution, if the above doesn't help.

No power when accelerate

Check and make sure the gas cap is tight, also make sure the air filter is not blocked. Did the noise level change at all out of the exhaust system? A collapsed or blocked muffler can also cause this problem.

Whining sound from under van only when i push the gas.

The serpentine belt is the most common cause for whining sound when accelerating, try to understand if noise is coming from serpentine belt.

Also check power steering belt under steering column, and also the rotor and chain, thei do not make whining noise , but can make noise when accelerating.

The belt is first suspect.
