A/c Won't kick on

Alright so my trucks A/C won't come on We've had it recharged and the compressor works but isn't getting any electricity to it for it to come on we think its a fuse but we can't locate the fuse. we've checked both fuse boxes that we know of and neither have an A/C fuse or relay in them. we've also replaced the switch and the light doesn't come on on the switch som we think its either a bad fuse or its got a bad connection somewhere in the harness any help but be greatly appreciated

I have the same problem. The fuse is behind the passenger side kick panel in a little white covered fuse box above the engine control unit. I replaced my fuse which was blown but I still have the same problem. I now think it is the compressor control relay but I do not know where that is located. Does anyone know?

On a 1992 there is a little fuse box with a fuse for the A/C and a fuse for the heater fan. Remove the glove box and the little fuse box is on the right. (passenger side)

There are some fuses behind the glove box, drop the glove box look to the left there will be two fuses on the left check these fuses. Also check your pressure switch on the A/C hose.

Also if it work replace the switch that you bypassed, but the system has to be full of freon for these switchs to work right

My air conditioning won't work on my 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora

There is a relay and a low pressure switch as well as a controller in the circuit.
You would need to backtrack from the compressor clutch to check for voltage in the circuit. You may need a shop manual to get the necessary wiring diagrams.

If my compressor wheel isn't spinning how do I know if it is the compressor or the ac clutch? System is charged but ac is blowing hot air

The question is: why isn't the compressor clutch turning

The compressor isn't likely seized,it may leak refrigerant,
but won't be what your asking.

The clutch can be jumped to test that

If okey, then you have to diagnose the entire
A/C Electrical System

How do you know it is properly charged, you put
refrigerant gauges on the system?

No heat till you start driving and then fan will kick on and not shut off but it doesnt overheat

You won't get heat right away. The heat has to have time to reach the heater core. That's where you get the heat for the passenger compartment. But if the fan isn't turning off, then I would have it checked for an electrical problem.

2000 Ford Focus. Transmission won't upshift unless I let up on the gas pedal. It will shift if I'm accelerating easy, but under a heavier load it won't. - Catalytic Converter isn't blocked...

it sound like it could be a vacuum problem. I have experienced this on cars i have worked on it usually turns out to be a vacuum problem 90 percent of the time.

The air conditioning in my 1994 toyota pickup all of a sudden stopped working the compressor won't kick on but the pulley turns, does that mean i need a new compressor?

The air conditioning system has a pressure switch that won't let the compressor engage if the refrigerant is too low. You seem to have some sort of leak ... if something slow then one of the
refill and lube/seal kits from the auto parts store should get you going. Get one with a gauge so you don't over charge. Obviously if a major leak then repairs are in order.

I have a 03 honda civicand the air conditioner wont work? it doesnt need recharged and the light comes on when i push the button but i get no cold air? any ideas?

I have the same problem right now, and from what I can figure, it looks like an intermittent thermal protector switch on top of the AC compressor. My 2003 Civic air conditioning works fine for 20 minutes or so and then stops working. If this switch is faulty, the compressor clutch won't engage and you won`t get cold air. I will get it replaced soon, but it seems like the access is not easy.

Air condition compressor won;t kick in

Most likely a loss of refrigerant ( freon ) in the system. The A/C compressor uses a low pressure switch as a SAFETY to insure it wont turn on without freon in the system. Hope this helps.
