I hade the same problem, but I figured it out, My car is a 1992 chevey lumina Base modle sadan, v6/3.1L This car is electricly based, regardless of your problem replace all
Fuses and
Relays your fule injection, heater cor, every thing. trust me.
MY CAR PROBLEM: car would stutter and want to die every time I came to a stop, or slowed down. When I start the car it would idle really high, when I shift in to drive it would go back to normal, for a little bit. I checked my
electrical center located on passenger side under the hood. I found that my fule pump relay had blown out. this is the main reason for fule pump going out. theas fuses are the real thing that makes this car run. replace them all. thay are like 20.00 dollars a pop but it will save you hundreds.
SECOND: bought a bottle of fule injection cleaner. spray this into your throttle body, connected to the air filter. lots of gunk. after that car stopped stuttering and has not died yet. I did my maintance on 7/15/08
