Question about 1988 Jeep Cherokee
Jeep cranks good. after it is driven a short distance it cuts off. you can crank it again and drive a few miles, it cuts off again.
Gas caps that fail to vent can cause this same condition. Take the gas cap off and see if that helps.
Also clogged fuel filters will cause a similar problem.

Do you have to wait a while after it cuts off before you can start it again? If so, it is probably the crankshaft location sensor which is mounted on the bell housing @ the front of the transmission, driver side, up rather high, it can be reached from below, it has one plug in wire and I believe one or maybe 2 mounting bolts.
