Its a continous circuit so it has to be there, wherever it stops at is where the problem is at or where you should start testiung wiring at. try a new switch if it doesnt help you can take it back. it sounds like it has an open short in the motor or wiring

Specifically I'm trying to identify the wire on the spark plug coil assembly to which I should connect the signal wire of a Tachometer to. The wire colours are, red, yellow, green/white, and blue.

It says the tachometer wire is Yellow/Green, you do not have that listed. You will find it in the list below, it is highlighted..

Why won't driver side rear power window go up?

possibly switch or broken wire between door and pillar. frequent closing and opening of door causes wire/s to break or might be a defective power window motor.

LR window won't go up,motor been changed & switched been tested with other switch which tested good.Is there a fuse for this window.

you need to test at drivers door master switch with a test light or volt meter to see if switch is sending voltage to that wire if switch is working and no voltage at door connector, slit open the rubber boot for that door and ck for broken wire in that area this is a prone area that flexes the wire when opening and closing the door causing wire to break

Electric windows not working

Check the fuses first and then the window switches themselves. You will have to remove them and put a meter on them. You can cross the wires to see if the window will go up or down. If you can do it by crossing the wires then the switch is bad.

My window on a 2006 dodge ram 2500 mega cab will not go up but role down

these should be the correct wire colors
light blue wire and a white wire drivers side
brown/white wire and puple white passanger side
meter these wires at the drivers side switch these wires should meter +12 volts in on direction either up or down and -12 volts in the other direction either up or down
Example: put the red probe on the light blue wire and the black probe on the white wire throw the switch in the up direction you shpuld get a reading of +12 volts and if you throw the switch in the down position you should get -12 volts. if the switch is in the nuteral position it wont give out voltage.
if voltage is not present in when you flip the switch then the switch is bad and you will need to replace it.
if voltage is present your motor or motors transmission is bad. sometimes the motor is connected to the transmission and when swaping out the motor you have to swap out the transmission too. most of the times you can seperate these two.
the reason you window will go down and not up might be beacuse the wieght of the window pulls the window down but the transmission is broken and the motor alone cannot lift the window up.
hope this helps.

The only window that does not work from the driver control is the drivers window - it went down now it will not go up - how can i tell if it is the switch or the window motor?

I'd check power to the drivers window motor...
Gain access to the window motor and put a voltage meter on the motor's power plug.
Turn on the ignition switch to allow power to all windows and while multimeter is connected to motor power plug...rock your window switch to see if you get voltage.
If ya get voltage...switch is good.

Sometimes motors go bad but usually its the window regulator that is the culprit.

Driver power window does not work all others do. previous intermittent working? 2002 ford escape I have the switch removed from the car. two wires go to the motor red and white/w black stripe Is one + the...

No there is no ground. It is all controlled by the switch. What you want to do is get a Multi meter and set it to 20 Volts. Then hook it up to the 2 wires at motor. It should read around 12 volts when you press switch up and should read -12 Volts when you press switch down. Or Visa versa.. Either way it should change polarity when pressed from up to down. If it is doing this the motor is bad. Try tapping the motor lightly when pushing down button. This will be a for sure sign of a bad motor. Hope this helps ya .. :-)

97 Accord drivers side window won't go up or down....

Window motors & regulators go bad every day. Pull your door panel, unplug the motor, if you have an ohm meter apply the leads to the leads into the motor. One will be ground the other two will raise and lower (reverse) the motor. If you show resistance between the leads the motor windings are good and the problem may be the window regulator. If you do not have an ohm meter, you can run two wires (one ground, the other hot) and test the motor by applying elec to it.

Front windows don't roll down

Yes, the power window switch is often faulty, because there is some sensitive electronic making that "auto rolled down". The 4x-switch is quite expensive, 260EUR =( So, I make some new connection. The faulty electronic is only for front windows, so now I connect wires so that I can use front windows with read window switch. (Rear windows is still working by those 2xback window switch) which is located between seats. Here is the conncection, at one's own risk. That 4x-window switch has 14-pins connector: Connect the back windows wires 8(blue/white), 9(red/black), 1 (grey/blac ), 2 t(green/white) to the ground wire 4 (black). Front windows wires 14(blue)->8 13(white)->9 3(white/violet)->2 7(black/blue)->1 If the manufacturer didn't use that "auto rolled down" function, there is no worries of power windows. Also illumination of 4x-switch goes down quite soon, leds will be better. Here is a photo if you like replace bulbs to leds: http://www.ptcruiser.fi/ptgalleria/albums/userpics/10010/PT-Cruiser%20Power%20Window%20Switch%20-Lamp%20Replace.jpg
