  • cami17 Jan 04, 2009

I have the same problem!! And I can be sitting at a light for like 5 seconds and mine will start to get really hot, Its like the fans dont come on till the very last minute. The toggle switch is a great idea though .. Good luck with your camaro :) mine sure needs it, ha!

If your engine is a LT1 like mine there are two black relays on the drivers side fender area near the head light; these run the fans; one relay for one fan and the other to kick on the second fan at high temps. Check the temp sensor on the passenger side of the engine block and the one on the water pump; they might be bad.

The fastest way to fix that problem is to find the wires to the fan cut the run them straoght to your battery and install a toggle switch so when u get out u can kill the power and cut the fan off it might sound crazy but it works i just had the same problem and had to do the same thing

I have a 86 camaro 2.8L run good till it gets warm then die's won't start again till it cools. getting fuel and spark.

I have a 1985 Camaro and if the switch for the fan is off then it overheats. There is a fan that can be installed. My switch is on the left of my steering wheel. Tune up is always good. Have your alternator checked, if it's old can be a problem maybe. New spark plugs can't go wrong. Good Luck!!!

93 cherokee overheating after electric fan unplugged plugged back in still overheated boiled radiater newcap thermostat waterpump milled head new gasket runs good till u go up hill r highway speeds over60...

Did you check if the fan starts up when the car has warmed up? The switch may have stopped working. Otherwise clean out the radiator and the outside. Make sure the thermostat is opening, even though it is new doesn't mean that it works. Start from cold and hold the top hose, it will get hot suddenly if it opens. Make sure all the hoses are clear and not collapsed inside.

1994 Camaro: My engine is overheating. Ive flushed the ratiator...

It could be the radiator fan motor if all sensors and relays have been changed.......unplug the coolant temperature sensor the fan should come on and stay on unless the motor is bad or it is not getting electrical current.

92 305 chevy camaro overheating

You may want to check the radiator, as they can get blocked and prevent proper cooling. You can back flush it by removing the upper and lower hose and running water in the top and out the bottom.

Overheating prob in chevy camaro z28 97

Check for obstruction in front of radiator/condenser that would cause loss of airflow through the core.Sometimes these cores get clogged with bugs or debris and airflow is deminished. The reason for overheat with A/C on is that the condenser adds to the heat in front of the radiator and if there is not enough airflow then the engine also runs hot because radiator can not be cooled sufficiently.
hope this helps

My 1993 camaro is overheating could i have warped heads?

There is only Two way to Warp the Heads. Have you Overheated it past the Steaming Point? Have you Put Cold Water in When the Motor was Hot? These Things would Warp the Heads. If Not, You need to Check the Waterpump and Thermostat. Please Rate my Solution, I need all the Help that I can Get! Thanks!
