Was there oil in the spark plug hole? If so, you need to replace the valve cover gasket and possibly the coil pack.

2000 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3. Misfire on 2 cylinders?

Question edited for clarity. Full year make model in title and mis-spelling of 'misfire'.
Question moved to sub category.

The misfire code only tell you that, unfortunately it doesn't tell you why. When swapping parts to test theories, only swap one thing, one cylinder to one cylinder and only one item, the coil, the plug or the wires, not all three. What was the make of the Crankshaft Sensor? Only buy quality OEM replacements as there is a history of bad ones from Mexico and China.

Wouldn't hurt to check the wires again. This has a neat diagram.

Why does my Bmw 320i goes 100% but when stoping at a stop light for about 15 seconds the car revs start to change and when i pull off it fells like the car is riding on 3 cylinders, i then stop turn the...

Replace spark plugs and look at coils. Sounds like a misfire at idle. Car is trying to keep idle high enough with 1 or 2 cylinders misfiring. Car compensates then revs up as the cylinders catch and run again. These cars often have bad coils. Scan car and look for codes 301 through 306. Replace all plugs and if misfire comes back then replace the coils on the cylinders that occasionally misfire. Look at boots and spring wires on coils and replace coils that have bad boots.

Just bought a 2004 crown vic with 108000 mls.misfire on 1 or 2 cylinders.Replaced plugs and coils.Still no change.Any ideas?

Did you replace the spark plug boots as well? Also always use dielectric grease in the plug boots on each end. Hope this cures it.

I recently purchased a 2002 cavalier z24 with 100,000 miles on it. I recently noticed a gas leak, so i just had the fuel pressure regulator changed. Today the check engine came light came on with two...

To much gas going thru the exhaust. probably the #2 miss fire. Before you change plugs, make sure you have fire to cylinder #2. You could have a bad coil or ignition module. Also check the condition of the plug wire. You can change these if you like , but it may not be necessary.

2001 cavalier cylinder 3 misfire. changed injector, computer, map sensor. Still have cylinder 3 misfire

a common problem for misfiring is a lack of doing a tune-up. i suggest doing that first and 95% of the time, the spark plugs and wires are to blame

Misfire #1 cylinder (autozone scanner) I changed all plugs, boots, and #1 cylinder coil. Went back to autozone and says misfire #1 cylinder. should I try replacing #1 injector now?

inspect the sparkplug plug first!! After engine is running for 20 sec (while misfiring), pull your #1 sparkplug and check for fuel. If there is no fuel replace the injector!!If there is fuel, post a comment for more help!!

2005 Cavalier misfiring on 2 cylinders, dumping fuel

Spark plugs get there voltage from the ignition coil packs, more then likely you have a bad coil pack or coil pack boot, pull one coil pack or spark plug wire or boot at a time, if you see a drop in rpm, that one is good, if no drop bad coil pack.

RECHECK#2 SPARKPLUG, PULL IT OUT AND INSPECT THE GAP TO MAKE SURE IT'S NOT BENT SHUT, IF PLUG IS OK MAKE SURE WIRE BOOT IS ON SECURELY, IF THATS OK THEN SUSPECT A FAULT COIL.
