Oldsmobile Alero Olds Alero Dash Lights,Fog Lights, cruise control lights, a/c and rear exterior lights went out. Recently had brakes repaired by Firestone and did not take it back yet!!!!! Then I took it to Gooodyear and they said it was some type of switch for a/c that would cost over $400.00. Checked fuses none blown.

sounds like your ABS sensor is bad. The ABS sensor controls the trac. control. but it wouldnt effect daily driving. you would only notice it if you slamed on the brakes on a slick surface. the brakes will lock up like they ARE NOT supposed to.

I have a 1997 olds cutlass supreme and have no brk lites

sounds like a bad or loose ground wire, it would be located in the trunk near the tail light assembly, the other switch is for the cruise contro, it's what cuts the cruise when you hit the brakes.

It is a sign that you either have a bad wheel bearing or 1 off your speed censors on 1 of the tires is bad, I just had this problem with my olds alero, but it was a wheel bearing that needed replaced.

use a scanner to check the abs system . most of the time the abs brakes and traction control system work together. your cruise control . unit has a servo motor .in front right fender well. check the fuse and relay also the cruise control brake release switch. and the brake light switch.if all is good you have a cruise control module problems. dealer ship job.
