If I understand your problem correctly, you have a transmission problem. The Taurus/Sable platform has had several tranny related problems, especially from lack of fluid/filter changes at the required service frequency.

You may have a low level of Transmission fluid, or you could have a serious problem. Either way, continuing to operate your Taurus in this manner will cause expensive damage.

Please check your Transmission fluid level. If you see that it is low, be sure to use the proper type of fluid for your car.

If you do not have a low level, then you should take this Taurus to a trained mechanic, and have your transmission evalutated.

Good luck!

Testing the idle air control and MAF sensor might give you some idea. The othe thnig I would need to do is test the throttle position sensor, as that could also be tbe issue.

Get the check engine light checked you need to figure out the codes. Could be low on tranny fluid. If rpms go up and only moves for a short distance at 15 mph. Could be tranny fluid.

Engine Turns Off when running AC

Your throttle speed sensor(idle speed sensor)is not working properly. It's job is to keep the the engine at the proper rpm range when you are not applying the gas peddle. This is the most likely cause.

Break/Gas peddles hit at same time

the Brake pedal is a huge Pedal. Move your foot over.. Be less lazy in your foot placement. Its an 08 so i'm assuming fairly new to you.. Its gotta be different from what your used too. Sit up straight, slide your seat up..move your foot over, and drive. Sleeping is for Beds..
