Does it shut off or stall when you slow down. It makes a major difference in trying to diagnose the problem.

Stalling or Low Engine Idle Speed Due to Dirty ... - Repair

This could be a lot of things. one of the tests that you need to run is shift it into nuetral when you are stopping and see if it still drops RPM and wants to stall. This will eliminate or conclude that it is a transmission issue. If it is still doing this then it could be a vacuum leak or fuel delivery issue.

Sometimes the intake manifold gets carbon in it from a bad egr valve. You may need to pull the EGR and see if you cant clean it a little.

Probably need to set the idle a bit higher. That keeps the RPM of the motor high enough that it won't stall when you come to a stop.

stalling when coming to a stop can indicate torque convertor clutch failure. Also can indicate and exhaust gas recirculation problem (egr). EGR valves can stick open causing air/fuel mixture to stall engine when slowing from speed.

Remove the large hose that come from the air intake at the throttle bod. Clean all the carbonout of the thottle body and off the butterfly inside with carb cleaner see if that helps
