I have a 2000 TDI Beetle and when I turned it off last night the air was working fine. When I turned it on this morning the air will not work. The fan does not come on and no air comes out and it makes no noise whatsoever. I checked the fuses but I am not sure if I looked at the correct stuff. Can you help me? I would really rather not have to spend a ton to get it fixed.
The one answer I haven't seen posted on here yet is in relation to the coolant fan control module. This module controls, at the very least, the a/c compressor AND the electric cooling fans. I've been looking for a wiring schematic so that I can verify the problem myself.

In some cases everything would be fine (fuse, thermo resistor). Look around the bottom area of the fan switch, even your carpet for a copper strip with a strange shape, I'd say about an inch size. If you do it came from the fan speed selector switch and has fallen off. If you're a DIY person you can spend a day putting it back inside the switch. If not just go buy a new climate controller.
Check the fuses under the hood for corroision. They should be locarted on the right hand side looking under the hood. I have a 2000 beetle that I was having problems with. technicans check everything and said all was o.k.. I found a fuse that was burnt up and cover with corroison. I cleaned the terminals replaced the fuse and have had no more problems.
